Just When I Thought I'd Dropped My Last Egg
"Just When I Thought I'd Dropped My Last Egg" by Kathie Lee Gifford. Recommended by Sharon. I really enjoyed this book, her stories, opinions, excerpts, ideas. Short bits, easy to read and come back to, fun and funny.
The Girls from Ames
"The Girls from Ames" by Jeffrey Zaslow - recommended by Sharon. Obviously, I've been studying women & friendships over the last year or two and so this book sucked me right in. A brilliant analysis of women and why friendships are so important and how the lasting ones sustain us. Life is difficult. And unexpected obstacles crash into us all. Here's how we love and help each other through it. Truly a Mom Time TV worthy book!
In Praise of Stay-at-Home Moms
"In Praise of Stay-at-Home Moms" by Dr. Laura Schlessinger - recommended by Sharon. It had to be written. I know people who work and have great kids, and I know people who stay at home with crappy kids. But I think the sacrifice of stay at home moms is worthy of credit and a pat on the back. And there's a good reason for doing it.
A Whole New Mind
"A Whole New Mind" by Daniel H. Pink - recommended by Sharon. I've been waiting my whole life for this book! Ran to get it as soon as I heard about it. He has to be right, it makes too much sense. Totally recommend to anybody who wants/needs to work!
The Winding Ways Quilt
"The Winding Ways Quilt" and similar Elm Creek Quilts novels by Jennifer Chiaverini - recommended by Rita. Perhaps because of my quilting heritage, I found these books delightful reading as the characters are developed over the scope of the series. But I think any woman would enjoy absorbing and relaxing with these "clean"real life dramas.
