I swept the floor the other day, there was more food on the floor than there was in my cupboard.  That’s reality for me.

GREEN. St. Patrick's Day, spring flowers, being environmentally conscious, saving money..... Is there anything on our minds these days that isn't green? Not much and that's why I picked a green product to spotlight this month.

We'll start with the fact that they are green, both in color and in being environmentally friendly. Kangaroom's recycling bags are made from 100% recycled material and are very sturdy, which makes them a hit in my book. They are great for collecting cans, plastic, paper or other recyclable items and do double-duty as bags for gathering items to donate.

We know in theory that donating items is a way to make good use of our resources, but have you ever stopped to wonder how letting things sit around unused is wasteful? You feel bad that you spent money on something you aren't using so what do you do? You let it sit there and gather dust with the other things you aren't using. Now imagine SOMEONE putting to very good use that thing sitting in the corner. Doesn't that feel good? Now that's being environmentally conscious!

Motivated? Great! Order a pair of bags and set a goal to fill one a week. Make a trip every other week to empty them at Salvation Army or other local charity. Your house will have less clutter any you'll feel good about going green.
